Lionfish Larve

The Abyss
The abyssal zone is right at the bottom of the ocean floor, around 4,000–6,000 metres deep. This zone remains in perpetual darkness. It is made up of many different types of organisms, including microorganisms, crustaceans, snails, cephalopods, fish, and possibly some animals that have yet to be discovered! For this piece, I was inspired by the lionfish larve. Though this fish may be an invasive species in the deep ocean, there is no denying how beautiful these predators of the ocean are.
