A Winter's Light

This exhibition was supposed to run in August but was postponed because of Melbourne lockdowns. I decided to sell my first collection of work I had prepared in an online exhibition. I was so grateful and excited that all the work from that collection has now sold out. So when it came time for Melbourne to open up and our exhibition to run again, I needed to paint a new collection of work. This time I have thought about the theme in two ways. The first is a reflection of my time spent dipping in the icy winter waters and the sense of calmness and community it brought to my life. The second, focusing on ‘the light’ at the end of Winter. Those sunny beach days, paddle boarding mornings and the holidays I have been daydreaming about, ever since that first warm day broke through the cold!
